Crowd control is an important practice in the security of public areas and spaces because it helps in preventing the outbreak of disorderly conduct, fights, crowd crushes, riots and more from happening. Particularly, crowd crushes have caused many fatalities in the past and this can be avoided altogether with proper crowd control. Thus, the effective management for crowds is when steps are made beforehand to manage these expected and unexpected occurrences. A common way of applying crowd control in a public space is by using high visibility fencing as a means to corral and divert pedestrian traffic to safety. These physical barriers are installed so they can provide an impenetrable line when needed. Aside from that, several of these barriers and fences can be connected using hooks to stop unauthorized entry when needed.
